The Hollywood Playhouse opened almost 60 years ago at 2640 Washington Street Hollywood, Florida. Although it is not recognized as a "historic" facility, it remains one of the oldest established theatres in South Florida. It has been known as "a professional theatre that offers an array of entertainment including Broadway and Off Broadway favorites, late night comedy improv, world premieres, children's musicals, and occasional appearances by celebrities." Going forward events will include in-house concerts, comedy, theatrical performances, live video and audio recording of original productions for worldwide viewing. The facility is also available for rent to outside promoters for plays, fundraisers, outside music promoter shows, television production, radio production, private parties and corporate events at reasonable rental rates. The Skylight Lounge and front lobby of the theatre will also be available for smaller events, specifically for organizations looking for a place to hold their special events that do not need the full theatre.

The main hall has 265 permanent seats including balcony seating, full Theatre/Concert Stage, lighting and concert sound. There is a lobby bar serving a full menu of spirits, beer and wine, as well as a food concession that sells snacks during all shows and events. The rest of the facility houses a full set design shop, video editing suites, sound studio, rehearsal studio and dressing rooms.
